Expert Wordpress For Work From Home Income

December 2nd, 2009 · No Comments

I have been a subscriber to Alex Sysosef’s Expert Wordpress Ezine since Dec 2007. As a newbie to blogging and working with Wordpress as a platform for self hosted blogs I found his regular Wordpress tips most helpful over the years.

I began using Wordpress on my own hosting account back in 2007 (after having issues with free hosted sites and blogs), as a way to create niche sites to earn money and build a work from home business. Back then managing a hosted website was very new to me.

What I like about Alex’s e-zine was not only does he give great tips and tricks on how to set up a hosted Wordpress site but he also gives good advice on how to optimize your Wordpress Blog for making money online. After all, isn’t that the dream of every blogger… having your blog make money for you by blogging about what you love?

If you are not familiar with Wordpress and wish to get started using it as a blogging platform you are in for a steep learning curve.

I remember how daunting it all seemed when I first started using Wordpress. I must admit I am far more comfortable with it now -  but I am still learning lots. In saying that, I should mention Wordpress is the easiest and most versatile blogging platform to use for creating websites.

Depending on your web-host provider, Wordpress can be easily installed onto a site in a few minutes using cPanel and Fantastico. This is where most newbies start as all it requires is pushing a few buttons and entering some details in an online form to install the latest version of Wordpress.

Then it’s a matter of installing the plugins you like to give your blog more functionality and choosing a theme to give your blog the look and feel that reflects what your blog is about. Then you just start blogging right?

Wrong!

There are so many other things to consider!

  • optimising your blog for the search engines (SEO),
  • traffic building strategies so readers find your blog (backlinks),
  • monetisation so at the very least your earnings can cover your domain registration and hosting (affiliate Marketing),
  • setting up an opt-in form to keep in touch with subscribers and regular readers (auto-responder)
  • comment spam to moderate… (pain, pain, pain)

The list goes on!

And on top of all that you find your Wordpress blog has been hacked! P0rn images now show where your interesting pictures were placed and link destinations have now changed to p0rn, gambling, and p_nis enhancement sites! GOOD GRIEF! How did that happen?!

I love using Wordpress but it does have some weaknesses and while there are unscrupulous individuals that exploit them your Wordpress site will be vulnerable to them unless you make it as secure as you can.

How do I know this? It’s happened to me on this very blog a couple of years back.

One of the ways to hacker proof your wordpress blog is to NOT USE Fantastico to install wordpress on your domain. (Sorry Fantasico… I love your work, but the facts remain)

However, if you manually install your site using a robust version of Wordpress and your FTP Client you can plug those security holes.

So how do you install Wordpress manually?

Well it’s not too difficult (I’ve been doing it for 2 years now) but it does require a bit of training and can be a bit daunting the first time. This is where Alex Sysosef comes in…

Alex has a hacker safe setup of Wordpress that you can download for free at his Expert Wordpress Site and he has a simple 3 step installation process with video guided instructions on how to do it.

You don’t need to have any technical knowledge and it comes with auto installed plugins and niche adaptable theme to get up and going real quick… fully optimised for cash generation.

So if you want to become a Wordpress expert take a look at Alex’x Expert Wordpress free installation now by clicking on the link or banner below…
