Today I want to explain further about Niche Silo Structure when creating a content niche site.

Although my students found my article Using Silo Structure to Organise Your Niche Sites helpful, there is still a little uncertainty regarding the mechanics of how to set up a Niche Silo.

There are a numbers of elements to creating a successful niche silo site. The basics are:

• Keyword Research
• Your Niche Topic
• Relevant Sub-Topics
• Sub-topic Articles
• Sitemap and silo framework

The basic Silo structure for your niche, that we use for the Million Dollar Blueprint, looks like this:

You start with your Niche Topic using keywords for your domains or sub-domain.

1. Select 5 Niche keyword subtopics and create 5 directory folders using subtopic keywords to name them
2. Select 6 keyword phrases for each of your subtopics and write articles for each as content for each phrase
3. Create your webpages for your niche site
4. Select 5 Clickbank products for your niche

Sound simple?

It is if you have a very clear picture of your site-map and how this relates to the silo structure.

When I start a niche site I use a site-map table as a template to organize my silo structure. It makes it easier to plan and check off each webpage as I complete them. The template looks like this:

As you will see in the sitemap, a 5×7 silo structure (5 subtopics with 7 articles each) means you need to create a 48 page website.

• 1 Home/Index page
• 3 Info pages (about, contact, sitemap)
• 2-3 Legal Pages (disclaimer, TOS, privacy)
• 5 Directory Index Pages
• 30 Article Pages (5 directories x 6 articles)
• 5 cloaked Product Pages
• 1 Recommends Directory Index Page

1. First create cloaked redirection pages for your Clickbank products using software provided by the NZPCS Million Dollar Blueprint and save in a recommends folder.
2. Start building your website using NVU with your home/index page and modify the webpage template. Create link menus to each directory index page, to your cloaked affiliate products and add links to about, contact, sitemap, tos, disclaimer, privacy pages
3. Save a copy of this index.html page into each directory folder.
4. On the index pages in each directory change link menus to each directory index page to links to your 6 article pages for each subtopic.
5. Use the index.html page in each directory folder as a template for your article pages
6. Write an introductory article about your niche for the home page and for each subtopic index page. (6 articles in all)
7. Write 6 articles for each subtopic (30 articles in all)
8. Create pages for about, contact, and sitemap.
9. For Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Disclaimer pages you can create once and upload to your main domain then link to them from your niche sites.
10. Upload your site to your sub-domain.

You have now completed your niche site using silo structure.

Points to Remember:

Use keywords phrases you found during your keyword research for

• page title,
• page descriptions,
• meta tags,
• sub-topic directories,
• anchor text to products,
• and words on the page in your articles

Draw up a framework for your sitemap before you start building pages.
